Terms of Service

1. Who we are

Melody is an AI music-creation service operated by Melody Labs Ltd., Tel Aviv, Israel (“Melody”, “we”). You describe an idea, and our systems — including third-party AI providers — write lyrics and produce audio automatically, at your direction. These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Melody Labs Ltd. Creating an account, ticking the consent box or using the app means you accept them; if you don't agree, please don't use Melody.

2. Your account

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country). If you're under 18, a parent or guardian must review and accept these terms with you. Keep your sign-in method secure — everything done in your account is your responsibility. Provide accurate details, and don't open an account for someone else or after we've suspended you.

3. Your input, your responsibility

Melody is a creation tool. Songs are generated automatically from the words, names and choices you provide — no one at Melody reviews them before they're created. You are solely and fully responsible for the ideas and text you enter and for every use you make of the resulting songs, inside or outside the app. You confirm your inputs don't break any law or violate anyone's rights.

4. Songs about real people

Never use Melody to shame, defame, harass, threaten or bully a real, identifiable person, to create sexual content about them, or to expose their private life. A “roast” song shared without its subject's consent can amount to defamation or harassment under Israeli law (the Defamation Prohibition Law) and laws elsewhere — and legal responsibility for it is yours alone. Making a song about a friend? Get their consent before sharing. About a public figure? Keep it within lawful satire. We may decline to generate, remove content and suspend accounts over such material.

5. Prohibited content & uses

Also never create or share content that is illegal; incites hatred, violence or discrimination; sexualizes or endangers minors in any way (zero tolerance — reported to the authorities); glorifies terror; infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights; or imitates a real artist's voice or name. Automated access, bulk account creation, reverse engineering, probing our security and overloading the service are all forbidden.

6. Personal voice

The voice feature may only be used with your own voice, or with the explicit, provable consent of the person being recorded. Uploading someone else's voice without consent violates their rights and these terms. You bear full responsibility for recordings you upload and for songs made with them; we may delete voice models and close accounts that misuse this feature.

7. Your songs — and the truth about AI

Songs you create are yours. Free-plan songs are licensed for personal, non-commercial use; a paid subscription grants commercial-use rights in songs created while subscribed, to the extent of the rights our technology providers grant us. Because songs are AI-generated: similar outputs may be produced for other users, we can't promise exclusivity or that copyright registration will be available for AI output in every country, and your commercial use of a song is your own responsibility.

8. The license you grant us

So the service can work, you grant us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, stream and process your content (inputs, songs, covers, voice models) — solely to operate, secure, improve and moderate the service, and, for songs you publish, to display and stream them in the app. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except short-lived backups and what the law requires us to keep.

9. Publishing to the community

Songs are private by default. Publishing to Explore means any user can listen; by publishing you confirm the song complies with sections 4–6 and that you hold the rights in it. We may unpublish or remove any public song at any time, at our discretion.

10. Reporting, moderation & enforcement

Hurt or offended by a song, or spotted content that breaks these terms? Report it via Settings → Support or abuse@melody-music.com, with a link and the reason. We review reports promptly and may remove content, warn, restrict, suspend or permanently close accounts — and, where the law requires, share information with law enforcement or comply with court orders. We host content created at users' direction and don't pre-screen it; we act on notice.

11. Credits, subscriptions & payments

Creating a song costs 1 credit. If a generation fails — including when we decline the content — the credit is returned automatically. Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled in your app-store account; cancelling stops the next renewal and access continues to the end of the paid period. Credit packs are one-time purchases; credits have no cash value and can't be transferred. Payments are processed by Apple/Google; refunds follow the store's policies and your rights under consumer law.

12. Availability & changes to the service

AI output is unpredictable by nature — we don't promise a particular song, quality or style, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, pause or discontinue features; if we ever shut down the service entirely, we'll give reasonable notice so you can export your songs.

13. Limits on our liability

To the maximum extent the law allows: the service is provided “as is”; we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, lost profits or data, or for content created by users; and our total liability for all claims is capped at the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the event. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or mandatory consumer rights in your country.

14. You cover us for your content

If a third party raises a claim against Melody because of content you created, published or shared, inputs or recordings you provided, or your breach of these terms — you will indemnify Melody Labs Ltd., its officers and employees for the damages, costs and reasonable legal fees that result. We'll notify you of such a claim and cooperate reasonably.

15. Ending things

You can delete your account anytime in Settings → Account — deletion is permanent. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms: after a warning where that's reasonable, immediately for grave breaches (such as sections 4–6). Sections that by nature survive — ownership, liability limits, indemnity and governing law — keep applying.

16. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, and the competent courts of Tel Aviv-Jaffa have exclusive jurisdiction — except where mandatory consumer law in your country of residence says otherwise. Before suing, talk to us at legal@melody-music.com — most problems get solved faster than a lawsuit.

17. Language & general

These terms exist in Hebrew and English; if the versions conflict, the Hebrew version prevails. If any part is found invalid, the rest stays in force. We may assign these terms as part of a merger or sale of the service; you may not assign them. Together with the Privacy Policy, they are the entire agreement between us.

18. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. For material changes we'll give at least 14 days' notice in the app; continuing to use Melody after a change takes effect means you accept it. The current version and its date always appear here.

Privacy Policy

1. What we collect

Your account details (name, email, sign-in provider), the answers you tap while creating songs, the songs themselves, and basic usage data that helps us fix bugs and improve the app. That's it — no contact lists, no location tracking, no ad identifiers.

2. How we use it

To create your songs, keep your library in sync, process payments, and provide support. We don't sell your data, and we don't use your private songs to advertise anything to anyone.

3. Your songs and AI

Private songs are not used to train our models. Published songs may be used, in anonymized form, to improve song quality.

4. Storage & security

Data is encrypted in transit and at rest, stored with established cloud providers. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple and Google — we never see your card.

5. Your rights

You can correct your details or delete your account (and everything with it) from Profile → Account & security. Deletion is permanent. Questions: privacy@melody-music.com.
